Both Tennessee State University, the largest and only state-funded historically black university in Tennessee, and Vanderbilt University, an internationally recognized research university with strong partnerships among its 10 schools and neighboring institutions, will be co-hosting the 2019 Earth Educators' Rendezvous.

A new article published by the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) describes how institutions are designing, implementing, and assessing civic learning in their degree major. Professor Sarah Fortner and the geology and Earth science department at Wittenberg University are featured in the article, in which they share their experience using InTeGrate materials.

David McConnell of North Carolina State University published an article on InTeGrate in the latest issue of Earth magazine. Titled, "Making the first (and last) geoscience class count," the article calls attention to opportunities within introductory geoscience courses to address grand societal challenges that are rooted in the geosciences, thus helping students develop "an appreciation for the global perspective, cultural sensitivity and scientific insight that inform decisions regarding the challenges humans will face in the future."
